SIMPLE GYM SKINCARE ROUTINE

Whether you’re a high-intensity city worker who likes to pound pedals during a 6am spin class or a super chilled yoga-bunny who ends the day with some Vinyasa Flow, we all share one workout in common- lugging around a heavy gym bag!

Since you can’t really discard your trainers and sports bra other areas need to be streamlined to alleviate some strain.  Having the right beauty products means when you’re exiting your kickboxing class you look like someone who’s about to walk on stage, not someone who’s been avoiding flying kicks. I'm using Simple Limited Edition range which as it says on the tin excels as simplicity.  The new Limited Edition edition range includes a three-step skincare routine that is perfect for pre and post workout.  The packaging looks just how I want my skin to look, new, clean and fresh.

1. PRE-WORKOUT CLEANSE

I particularly hate mascara & eyeliner running into my eyes during a sweaty workout so use the Simple Limited Edition Fitness Cleansing Wipes pre-workout to remove makeup.  These wipes cleanse skin quickly and thoroughly with just a few sweeps of the wipe, meaning there’s no need to tug at your skin. This ensures clear skin as your makeup is not clogging up your pores when working out.

2. POST WORKOUT WASH

After I've been worked out I have a shower (obvs) and use the Simple Limited Edition Fitness Moisturising Cleansing Wash on my face to cleanse and rehydrate my skin not to mention removing every remnant of sweat from my skin enabling me to feel confident that I'm leaving odour free.

3.  POST WORKOUT GLOW

I use the Simple Limited Edition Hydrating Light Moisturiser to lock in moisture and fully rehydrate my skin. The moisturiser even contains Pro-Vitamin B5 and is perfect for even sensitive skin.

How To Stay Fit & Fresh | Perspirex

I've got a new BFF that is always there for me and never let's me down. It goes by the name of Perspirex, an anti perspirant that comes in the smallest of packages yet keeps me smelling fresher for longer.

Perspirex Original

Firstly, I've not been desperately seeking a new anti perspirant but I do like to change it every few months to ensure my pits don't become immune to my current one.

Arm pits

Secondly, Perspirex Original and Comfort costs £8.49. With that price tag tag, I thought that it must be pretty special and require special treatment. I wasn't wrong.

It comes with precise application instructions and my initial reaction to this revelation was *yawn* but luckily it’s pretty straight forward. All you need to do is;

  • Apply it before bed to clean, dry and unbroken skin

  • wake up and shower as usual. No need to re-apply.

  • Smell fresh despite having not re-applied for up to 3-5 days

Obviously this sounds far too good to be true so I put it to the test in the sweatiest of workout sessions  (the Third Space Elevation Challenge) to see just how good this under armour is.

During my fitness challenge  I did  1 speedy kilometre on the rowing machine, followed by burning 50 calories as fast as I could on a bike, a 1km run and then finished it off with 10 burpees.

Rowing Machine

It was just under twenty minutes of sweat-inducing exercise yet my agreeable odour lasted. I then went to shower, didn’t re-apply and was still smelling AOK. Seriously! I even got my mate Chris to give me a sniff test and he approved of my “aroma” too.

Perspirex Sensitive

Perspirex is a great way to protect yourself if ever you forget your anti perspirant and is small enough to pop in your hand luggage when travelling. It is even clinically proven to reduce skin irritation under your arms which in my opinion makes it a bonafide magic stick. Now that’s how to stay fit and fresh without even having to say “abracadabra”. Enjoy!

Ella Eyre Performs In First Movement Activated Gig | London

Ever wondered what would happen if you combined the board game, Operation with a pop disco, Lazar Quest and an aerobic workout? Well wonder no more because last night I got to experience this highly unique happening.

I went to The Century Club in London to attend the World's first movement activated performance by UK chart topper, Ella Eyre. Before hand I was handed a Fitbit activity band to track my movement throughout the evening. I was then informed that the more I moved the more energetic Ella Eyre's performance would be. This excited me.

I suddenly imagined Ella Eyre to be wearing crocodile clips with electric wires attached, that would have her body popping to the sound of our rapturous applause in no time (Welcome to my mind). It would be like some sort of weird high school experiment which I couldn't wait to see.

Needless to say, there was great anticipation before the performance. The other guests all looking down at their activity bands wondering what on earth would happen now that we're in the driving seat and as we nibbled on canapés there was an energetic buzz.

Finally, Ella Eyre graced the stage (not wearing crocodile clips unfortunately) and her performance was incredible. It was the most intimate venue I'd ever seen her perform in. Positioned directly in front of her I almost felt as though she was serenading me as she belted out Gravity, Waiting All Night and her new single, Good Times. Even during her more heart felt number, Always Come Back her performance was powerful. What a treat!

As the audience danced and clapped along the activity wrist bands we were wearing lit up the room with flashing lights creating a disco-like atmosphere and before we knew it, there were lazar lights beaming across the room.

Even though I was working up a sweat, I felt confident and cool in Sure MotionSense deodorant which kept me fresh and protected with every move I made and using the Fitbit technology as I danced the night away, I got home to see that I had burned a whopping 715 calories and taken nearly 1000 steps. Not bad for a 3 hour outing on a Wednesday night. Happy days!
