InStyle Magazine DJ Playlist

What a week! One minute I’m running around with the Brownlee Brothers, trying my very hardest to keep up with them, the next minute I’m DJing from the most Instagrammable venue in London, Lights Of Soho, playing tunes for Instyle Magazine's Project 13 Awards after party. Now that I've had a moment to catch my breath, let's have a chat.

Instyle UK Magazine Party DJ

Celebrating online writers and bloggers, Instyle Magazine's Project 13 is in it's second year, enabling thousands of people to vote for their favourite blogger in a range of categories (from travel to food, craft to fitness) to win an award. Much to my surprise and delight, I won the award for Best Fitness & Wellbeing Blog. Thank you so much for voting!

Instyle Award

There was even more to celebrate as not only did I win an award but I was also DJ'ing at their after party and got the party into full swing playing a mix of RnB and pop tracks but the following seemed to be particularly popular on the night:

  • Lee Walker feat. Katy B - Freak Like Me
  •  KDA feat. Katy B + Tiny Tempah - turn the Music Louder
  •  George Kwali & Kideko feat. Nadia Rose - Crank It
  •  Eats Everything vs Audion - Dancing
  •  Stardust - Music Sounds Better
  •  Robin S - Show me Love never

It was a super fun night, celebrated behind the decks, with friends and a cocktail or few. Ella Eyre Performs In First Movement Activated Gig | London

Ever wondered what would happen if you combined the board game, Operation with a pop disco, Lazar Quest and an aerobic workout? Well wonder no more because last night I got to experience this highly unique happening.

I went to The Century Club in London to attend the World's first movement activated performance by UK chart topper, Ella Eyre. Before hand I was handed a Fitbit activity band to track my movement throughout the evening. I was then informed that the more I moved the more energetic Ella Eyre's performance would be. This excited me.

I suddenly imagined Ella Eyre to be wearing crocodile clips with electric wires attached, that would have her body popping to the sound of our rapturous applause in no time (Welcome to my mind). It would be like some sort of weird high school experiment which I couldn't wait to see.

Needless to say, there was great anticipation before the performance. The other guests all looking down at their activity bands wondering what on earth would happen now that we're in the driving seat and as we nibbled on canapés there was an energetic buzz.

Finally, Ella Eyre graced the stage (not wearing crocodile clips unfortunately) and her performance was incredible. It was the most intimate venue I'd ever seen her perform in. Positioned directly in front of her I almost felt as though she was serenading me as she belted out Gravity, Waiting All Night and her new single, Good Times. Even during her more heart felt number, Always Come Back her performance was powerful. What a treat!

As the audience danced and clapped along the activity wrist bands we were wearing lit up the room with flashing lights creating a disco-like atmosphere and before we knew it, there were lazar lights beaming across the room.

Even though I was working up a sweat, I felt confident and cool in Sure MotionSense deodorant which kept me fresh and protected with every move I made and using the Fitbit technology as I danced the night away, I got home to see that I had burned a whopping 715 calories and taken nearly 1000 steps. Not bad for a 3 hour outing on a Wednesday night. Happy days!

XOXO

Lovebox Festival 2015 | What I Wore

Lovebox Festival 2015 Boohoo.com

Arh great,  British music festivals. The perfect time to get together with friends, have a few drinks, see some live music and people watch. (Yes, people watching...it's a thing) so when women's footwear brand, Butterfly Twists invited  me to Lovebox music festival in Victoria Park, yesterday in London, I was delighted.

In addition to Skepta,  Dizzee Rascal,  Groove Armarda and Rudimental, I also saw a LOT of female flesh at Lovebox music festival. I too was flashing a plenty of skin so here's what I wore.

It's a dress (a really short dress) by Motel Rocks. I'm 5 ft 7 and (as you've probably gathered) the size small looks more like a top than a dress on me. So, I wore a pair of shorts underneath it, mainly to save the eyes of innocent strangers and the trauma of them seeing my actual derriere...if only my fellow scantily dressed sisters would have done the same (come on girls :).

I started the day wearing a metal head piece and ended it wearing a floral head band. Don't ask me how that happened but I think I prefer the flowers.

I had a great time so now I have one hell of a sore throat and sleepy eyes to combat.

Drake, A$AP Rocky & Major Lazor at Wireless Festival

Duke Dumont, Labrinth and Ms Dynamite where just some of the acts I saw at yesterday's sold out Wireless Festival at London. I had an incredible time. The sun was shining, everyone was merry and ready to party.

Onstage with Major Lazor

Being on stage whilst Major Lazor performed was pretty special. Seeing them do their pre-show huddle and rock the crowd was spectacular.

For A$AP Rocky and Drake I wanted to be in the crowd so that I could rap along to all of their words with everyone else.

A$AP Rocky was of course, brilliant but Drake,  literally wooed the sold out audience, telling 40,000 people that they were the best crowd he'd ever seen in his life! Wow. What a statement. I couldn't help but blush. There's something about the way Drake communicates that always makes it feel like he's talking directly to you.  Skills.

His set included London born grime artist, Skepta, ended with fireworks and had me bowled over.
